As this year marks our 10th anniversary in business, we thought it was golden opportunity to reflect on what we have achieved and learnt so far. Since starting the business in 2007, the demands of the oil and gas industry have developed and changed. Our flow measurement products have likewise come on over that time. Reliability and accuracy are still vital to the operation of oil and gas companies and, thus, our commitment to delivering the best quality products is still as firm as ever.
Developing the SFC3000 Flow Computer
Thirty plus years’ experience in flow measurement led our team to create the SFC3000 flow computer. We used our knowledge of what the oil and gas market needed to create the most effective flow measuring system for their needs. Using new electronic technology and advanced manufacturing techniques, we worked for two years to produce a technically advanced product with low manufacturing costs. Our endeavours have paid off, as a large number of oil and gas operations now use our computer to produce vital data.
Developments and Accreditations
In the same year – 2009 – that the SFC3000 went into production and we moved into our current premises in Ford Business Park, we also achieved ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System approval. In 2011, the opportunity to lease the premises next door arose at a very convenient juncture, as we had expanded our operation so much that we desperately needed more space. This allowed us to double our space and continue to improve the design of our products. From 2010 to 2014, we went on to receive accreditations from the Measuring Instruments Directive, the Conformité Européene (CE) and customer approvals covering all types of measurement for gas and liquids. During the period from 2012 to 2016, we added additional hardware, software and auxiliary features to the SFC3000 to expand its applications and make it easier to use.
The Present and the Future
Currently, the SFC3000 is used in many different applications from custody transfer to power plant and bio-methane plant measurement and is increasingly being used to replace older machines. It can be used as a supervisory machine, a stand-alone flow computer or a system component providing versatile and accurate measurement.
Looking ahead, by the end of 2017 over 4,000 SFC3000 machines will be in use by many different customers in the UK, Europe and worldwide. As the industry changes and develops, we will change and develop with it to continue to produce the best quality flow measuring products, specially designed to meet the needs of their application.
At Ex~I Flow Measurement, we are proud of what we have achieved over the last ten years and pleased that our customers have been so satisfied with our products. We will continue to innovate and expand to fulfil their needs. To find out how we can help you, call +44 (0)1243 554920 or contact us here.
